Downtown greenville
Downtown greenville
friendly and walkable
Downtown Greenville is the business center and sports its share of tall buildings. But sharing the space is a human-scale environment with a blend of shops and restaurants on tree-lined streets. The Reedy River flows right through the downtown area and visitors and residents can enjoy the stunning vistas of Falls Park on the Reedy, a beautiful multi-level park with lovely landscaped areas where you can attend events, the falls themselves (you and your dog can walk down onto the rocks by the waterfall) and a suspension bridge that gives you a spectacular view of the park and river.
On South Main Street, you will find eclectic stores, ice cream shops (Greenville residents love their ice cream – you will find plenty of ice cream shops in the area), casual and fine dining. At the south end of downtown, on Augusta Street not too far from Falls Park on the Reedy, you can grab a bite at Gather GVL, an outdoor (but heated when it’s chilly) food court with fire pits and sometimes activities. Going north from Falls Park is the Peace Center, a concert and theatre venue with wonderful entertainment.
Festivals
