Just west of downtown Greenville, the Village of West Greenville has a completely different flavor. It only takes about six minutes to get there coming from downtown Greenville via Academy Street. If you consider yourself to be an artist, a fashion icon, an explorer or a misfit (no judgment here, I always say that the best people are mad), you will feel right at home here.
The Village of West Greenville is filled with galleries, public art and interesting shops and restaurants. The main street is Pendelton Street, where pretty much everything is eclectic and interesting, making it one of the Hatter’s favorite areas! Bend your conception of reality at The Rabbit Hole (see Tip of the Hat below for more details), explore your artistic sensibilities at the numerous galleries, featuring every kind of visual art and style or try a unique culinary experience at one of the great restaurants (you really need to thoroughly check out the Tip of the Hat). If you like things that are out of the ordinary, the Village of West Greenville is a must-visit.
Festivals
West Greenville is the site of a fabulous art festival, Artisphere, when people from all over flood the Village. In addition to copious displays of visual art, there are performances, food booths and activities for the kids. Artisphere was Greenville News’ Best Festival in 2022 and also made USA Today’s Readers’ Choice 10 Best Art Festivals list in addition to other accolades.
