Tip of the hat simpsonville
Stella’s southern bistro
Stella’s is located in west Simpsonville on Fairview Road, tucked in among strip malls and shopping centers, so you could be excused if you wouldn’t expect that it would provide fine dining. It’s in a standalone building with its own parking. Unlike some other fine restaurants, it is open for both lunch and dinner.
Stella’s serves “low-country inspired” food, with ingredients bought from local farms, wineries and dairies. Its menu varies by what is in season.
Date night in simpsonville
Stella’s Bistro is a great place to go for a date night, celebratory dinner or for an impressive business dinner. The service is excellent and the food is well-prepared and fresh. Don’t skimp out on the desserts!
There isn’t a ton of seating, so reservations are recommended. They are on Open Table, and you can reserve that way or by calling.
For the three people in our party, we had a Ploughman’s Platter (meat and cheese charcuterie with honey and jam) to share, Crispy Duck Leg Confit, Roasted Pumpkin with goat cheese, Caramelized Pear Salad and the Porcini Spiced New York Strip, finished with the perfect creme brûlée. The portions were just the right size, not too much where you feel stuffed, but enough to be satisfying.
Stella’s also has an extensive wine menu and beers from local breweries.
