Simpsonville
chill and local
Simpsonville is southeast of the hustle and bustle that is downtown Greenville and north of Fountain Inn. It is primarily a bedroom community, as epitomized by its slogan, “Simply Home.” That saying, downtown Simpsonville is chock full of charm. It is a quiet town with little traffic and lovely little shops and restaurants along Main Street. The Warehouse at Vaughn’s is an indoor food court where they have some kind of activity nearly every night including karaoke, trivia and live music and it draws folks from other areas of Greenville.
In addition to downtown Simpsonville which is east of I-385, there is another part of Simpsonville along Fairview Road, Grandview Drive and Harrison Bridge Road. This area has more nationwide and regional stores such as Home Depot, Petco, Lowe’s, Walmart, Aldi, TJ Maxx and Hobby Lobby, providing convenience to residents of Simpsonville and nearby Fountain Inn. This cluster of national chains is one of the few in the Greenville area, and has much less traffic than the busy shopping area of Woodruff Road.
THINKING ABOUT MOVING TO simpsonville?
Simpsonville ranked #10 on HomeSnack’s list of Best Places to Live in South Carolina. Simpsonville has a cute little downtown area but also lots of residential neighborhoods, both east and west of downtown. Like many of the towns around Greenville, Simpsonville is elongated, going all the way up to Woodruff Road overlapping Five Forks on the east and down to Fountain Inn on the west. If you live in the east near Woodruff, you have access to all the shopping there, but will also be battling gridlocked traffic a lot of the time. In the eastern part of Simpsonville, you can find some very upscale neighborhoods in the $1 million price range just south of Roper Mountain Road. In the west, traffic is much less, and you still are close to nearly every store you need on Fairview Road. There is a mix of neighborhoods, with some more established neighborhoods like popular Neely Farm mostly in the mid $400K range, some new build communities starting in the $200K range and others in the $600K range. For some reason, gas prices seem to be lowest in west Simpsonville compared to other Greenville areas.
